MUPFL Press Release: Keystone Grant Award – Feb. 2013

The Campaign for the Media-Upper Providence Free Library

Media-Upper Providence Free Library to Renovate and Expand.

The Media-Upper Providence Free Library is bursting at the seams and ready to do something about it! Libraries today are no longer simply repositories of books – they are also community hubs, technology centers, and program spaces. Over 7,000 patrons visit the Media-Upper Providence Free Library every month, taking advantage of the books, computers and programs provided by the library and staff.

After years of planning the library has embarked upon an ambitious building project which will increase the overall space of the library by 40% but, more importantly, it will also make the space more usable and in keeping with the library of the 21st century. Renovations are projected to cost the library $2.5 million. The board is working with Media Borough and Upper Providence Township to help fund the project. In addition, the grants committee of the board is pursuing several significant grants, including the $500,000 Keystone Grant. A capital campaign soliciting donations from the community has also been launched with donations to date totaling $60,000.

Further details on the project and donation opportunities are available at the library. You can view our Case StatementFact Sheet and Pledge Form here simply by clicking on the appropriate link. Library Director, Brandi Grosso, will be glad to provide an electronic copy via email. Contact medirector@delcolibraries.org to request a copy.
