New Children’s Room Mural

childrens room muralMany thanks to local artist Jennifer Loyle for creating such a fun, vibrant and engaging mural for our Children’s Room. Jen’s mural is as special as the wonderful library space it embraces. The three panels celebrate the delight of reading enjoyed by creatures across the galaxy. Our book-loving astronauts include a penguin, lemur, giraffe and more. Can you guess what astronaut pig’s favorite book is? Come visit us and see if you can identify all the different animals and classic books that are being read. For astronomers of all ages, there are planets, stars , comets…

We have designed our new library building to be flexible and to evolve with the community’s needs. Jen Loyle embraced this goal by creating the panels on a surface that can be removed and changed on an ongoing basis.

We welcome your suggestions for an official mural title. For now, we are calling it Readers in Space. Enjoy and thank you for your support!  — Vicki Sheeler (Youth Services Librarian) and Barb Hauck-Mah (Director)
