How to Use Hoopla

hooplaweb2Hoopla Digital is a new free service offered by Media-Upper Providence Free Library that allows adult DCLS cardholders in good standing to borrow and enjoy movies, full music albums, television episodes, audiobooks, eBooks and graphic novels all from one website. Mobile users may download the Hoopla digital app from the Google Play or Apple Store. Web users may visit www.hoopladigital.com. To register, you just need an active valid DCLS library card (fines under $20) and an email address. As soon as you are registered, you are able to browse and borrow content.

Hoopla is a free website you can access on your computer. The Hoopla Digital app works on most Android devices that are running 4.1x & up, which includes the newest Kindle Fire HDX’s, along with iOS devices that are running IOS 8 & up.

How do I use Hoopla? Simply find a title of interest and click “borrow.” On a mobile device or computer, you may enjoy while connected to the internet by clicking “play.” If using a mobile device (the app), you can download the title by selecting “download.” Downloaded material may be enjoyed offline (i.e. while traveling). All content is always available on Hoopla. No need to wait or to place a hold on any content.

How many can I borrow and how long may I keep titles that I borrow?
There is a monthly 8 checkouts per adult card limit. Borrowed titles will automatically be returned once the lending period ends. There are never any fines or overdue items! The lending periods are as follows:

Movie or Television Show – 3 days
Music – 7 days
Book (audio, eBook or Comic) – 21 days
