DESCRIPTION:Our Friday Film Club in November builds on our house is a home theme with: Who to invite?  \nMAUDIE\, is based on the true story of folk artist Maud Lewis (Sally Hawkins) and the unlikely romance between Maud and a hardened reclusive bachelor\, Everett Lewis (Ethan Hawke). \nMaud\, a bright-eyed\, intelligent woman\, hunched with crippled hands from arthritis\, yearns to be independent and to live away from her overly protective family. She escapes her solitary existence in her aunt’s home through her art\, dreaming away the days\, until in her early 30s she finds\, and answers\, an advertisement for a housekeeper. \nEverett Lewis is a 40 year old bachelor who owes nothing to anyone. He lives in a 10×12 foot house that has neither running water nor electricity\, but at least it’s all his. SUMMARY:Knit Your Bit
DESCRIPTION:Calling all Knitters and crocheters to make scarves for the United States Veterans!\nWe are an official Knit Your Bit Community partner under the umbrella of the National WWII Museum.\nWe will gather on the first and third Thursday of the month on the upper level of the library to stitch scarves. Patterns and yarn will be provided. As an official drop-off location for these scarves\, they will be distributed during Holiday Season to patients in our local VA hospitals. \nNovember 2 and 16 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm on library upper level.
