SUMMARY:Before Sunset
DESCRIPTION:In Honor of Notre Dame Cathedral: \nBefore Sunset’ is an American romantic drama that was released in 2004 to much acclaim from film critics and staring Ethan Hawke as young American author Jesse and French-American actress Julie Delpy as his lover Céline. The film received major critical acclaim and was even nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. \nIn a scene that went viral over social media when the Notre Dame Cathedral was on fire\, Jesse (Hawke) looks at the structure and tells Céline (Delpy) about a legend which speaks of the beauty of the cathedral while they are on a boat on River Seine. \nJesse says in the film: “I heard this story once\, about when the Germans were occupying Paris and they had to retreat back\, they wire Notre Dame to blow. But they had to leave one guy in charge of hitting the switch and the guy\, the soldier\, he couldn’t do it. You know\, he just sat there\, knocked out by how beautiful the place was. And then\, when the Allied troops came in\, they found all the explosives just lying there… ” \nFilms are shown Friday Afternoon at 1 PM in our upstairs theater for adults 18 & up.\nHot Tea\, Pastries & Popcorn served and discussion after all movies. \nOur last film before our break for the summer is: APOLLO 11

SUMMARY:CLOSED for MEMORIAL DAY
DESCRIPTION:Memorial Day was first observed after the Civil War and known as Decoration Day\, a time for the nation to decorate the graves of the war dead with flowers. As it is now known as Memorial Day\, businesses close and communities come together in a day of honor and remembrance. \nWe set aside time to honor those who fought for freedom and say “thank you”\, we will not forget you or your sacrifice. \nThe Library will be closed in observance of Memorial Day. Check out our ebooks online. \n  \n
