Friday Film Club: Get Out

Our Friday Film Club in March goes to the Oscars!

Films start at 1:00 pm in the library’s upstairs theater and is for adults 18 & up. 

Academy Award winner for Best Original Screenplay goes to Get Out Writer/Director Jordan Peele.

Get Out manages both horror and satire in this thought provoking film that shows what may still be lurking beneath or even on the surface. All starts innocently enough now that Chris and his girlfriend, Rose, have reached the meet-the-parents milestone of dating, she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate with Missy and Dean. At first, Chris reads the family’s overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter’s interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he never could have imagined.
