Libraries Offer Free Relief from Tough Times

NBC News recently ran this story on how libraries can help during tough economic times.  Our library is doing its part too — circulation is up in almost all categories!

Volunteer Opportunities

Interested in helping the library out? Opportunities are available to help with the book sale, Friends of the Library, and board of trustees. Please see John Kennedy, library director, for details.

Master the Art of Reading

Man Reading SargentFragonard The Reader

Master the art of reading this summer by participating in our Adult Summer Reading Program!

You can sign up here to keep an electronic log of your reading and to see what others are reading. Then come into the library to fill out one of these:

2009 Adult Summer Reading Club Review

Every other week we’ll have a drawing to give away a $15 gift card, and each review you turn in counts as 1 entry for the drawing. You may submit as many reviews as you want, but you can only win once.

Our first drawing is July 9, so get those reviews in! You can drop them off at the desk, and we’ll give you a raffle ticket for each one.

At the end of summer, we’ll be compiling the reviews into a book to display in the library. You’ll be able to check out what others read throughout the summer and what they thought. You might find some great new reads!

Summer Story Times Are Here!

spring460

During our Story Times, children are not only being entertained and exposed to new people, but they are learning! Sure, indulge the kids in music circles and gymnastics if you are able – they are wonderful, stimulating environments too. But the library is a place where the stimulus can be checked out again and again! And did I mention that there is no cost to attend our programs!

Click here to see the Summer Story Time Schedule. Also, check out Eventkeeper for the other exciting summer programs going on at the library!
